Exeter Police and Community Choir is regarded as one of the leading male voice choirs in Devon.

It is still going strong and entertaining audiences more than 50 years after its formation.

It has helped raise tens of thousands of pounds over the years for local charities, benefitting organisations like the West of England School, Devon Air Ambulance, Dream-a-Way and Hospiscare.

The choir performs in a variety of venues and every year it takes part in the Lord Mayor of Exeter's annual Charity Concert in the beautiful surroundings of Exeter Cathedral.

Exeter Police and Community Choir was originally formed by serving police officers in Exeter in 1963 but for some years has attracted members from the wider community.

The choir has appeared on television and on the radio in previous years. Concerts are performed mainly in Exeter, South, Mid and East Devon, enabling a host of local organisations to raise funds for their own charities. The lively repertoire includes spirituals, hymns, songs from musicals and other popular pieces - and, of course, Christmas carols for the December concert.

“Exeter Police and Community Choir.... it was such a polished and professional performance from a local choir...........”
